Former Vice President and 2028 Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has welcomed two fellow contestants for the NPP flagbearership, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and Kwabena Adjei Agyepong, to his residence.
Dr Adutwum, a former Minister of Education and MP for Bosomtwi, and Kwabena Agyepong, a former General Secretary of the NPP and serial flagbearer aspirant, were among five people who contested in the NPP's hotly contested primary, which Dr. Bawumia emerged victorious with 56.48% of valid votes cast.

Following their concession, telephone calls to Dr Bawumia and an address during the official declaration of results at the party's headquarters on Saturday, February 31, 2026, the party stalwarts paid separate visits to the newly elected flagbearer.
Dr Bawumia, who has been receiving party members and well-wishers at his residence in Accra, welcome Dr. Adutwum on Sunday, while he received Kwabena Agyapong and his wife on Monday morning.
The two, once again, congratulated Dr. Bawumia and also pledged their support and loyalty to the cause of the NPP.

Dr. Bawumia also thanked them for their visit and pledge, as well as reiterated his quest to unite the party for the task ahead.
Several members of the party, friends, family and well-wishers have been trooping to the home of the former Vice President to congratulate him.
