The Bono East Regional Fire Commander, ACFOI Naomi Ofori-Adubea Sarpong (Rev), has paid a courtesy call on fire volunteers at Tanoso as part of renewed efforts to revitalise and strengthen volunteer fire squads across the region.
During the visit, ACFOI Sarpong praised the volunteers for their frontline role in combating bush and rural fires, noting that their contribution remains critical to protecting lives, farms and property, especially in hard-to-reach communities.
She encouraged the volunteers to remain dedicated to fire prevention and control, while underscoring the importance of regular training, motivation and closer collaboration with the Ghana National Fire Service to reduce fire outbreaks in the region.

As a show of support, the Regional Fire Commander donated pairs of Wellington boots to the volunteers to enhance their safety and effectiveness during firefighting operations, reaffirming the service’s commitment to equipping and empowering community-based fire squads.
