Actor Andrew Tandoh-Adote is preparing for his second performance in the stage play “Black Star: the Teacher of Africa”.
The play, previously staged by African Arts Network at the University of Ghana Amphitheatre last year, will now be performed at Black Star Square in Accra on March 8, 2026 at 7pm.
Andrew is taking on what many consider one of his biggest challenges yet. With 63 stage plays and nearly two decades of experience, he has earned a place among the notable figures in the country’s theatre scene, sharing the spotlight with several renowned actors and actresses.
As he steps into character, his voice transforms and the audience is treated to an experience that will linger in their minds for a long time. Known for his exquisite gift of impressions, he effortlessly imitates personalities such as Kwame Nkrumah and Archbishop Duncan Williams, among others, often leaving the crowd in awe and admiration.
His impressive repertoire includes collaborations with David Dontoh, Ama K. Abebrese, James Gardiner and Joselyn Dumas, among other personalities, under productions by African Arts Network and Uncle Ebo Whyte. These roles have further strengthened his reputation as a leading man in Ghanaian theatre.
Andrew’s consistency in energy, range, delivery and discipline on both stage and screen has been praised by industry greats across the entertainment landscape. With each passing performance, his profile continues to grow, reinforcing his status as a household name.
As the lights dim this weekend and the music begins, Andrew will take his place on stage, ready to transport audiences into a world of drama, comedy and inspiration.
