The Upper Denkyira West District marked Ghana’s Independence Day with a ceremony to recognise dedicated teachers in the district.
The event, organised by the District Assembly in partnership with the District Education Directorate, celebrated educators who have shown commitment and excellence in their work.
The ceremony formed part of activities commemorating Ghana Independence Day.
District Chief Executive for the area, Hon. Isaac Nsiah served as the Special Guest of Honour at the programme.
During his address, he highlighted several government initiatives aimed at improving the education sector and other areas of development.

He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting teachers and enhancing the quality of education in the district.
Traditional leaders, popularly known as Nananom, were present at the ceremony alongside the Member of Parliament and the Presiding Member of the Assembly.
Other dignitaries included the District Coordinating Director, the District Education Director, heads of schools and Assembly Members.
Students, members of the National Democratic Congress and other stakeholders also attended the programme.
Award winners and nominees were congratulated for their dedication and service to education in the district.
