The ROKA Kids Invitational Marathon will return for its fourth edition on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra.
Organisers say this year’s event promises to be the biggest yet. The race will be held in collaboration with the Ghana Armed Forces Sports Directorate and will run from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The marathon is open to children aged four to 15 and will feature four school categories: Kindergarten, Lower Primary, Upper Primary and Junior High School. The categories are designed to ensure age-appropriate competition for young participants.
Founder Madam Kissiwaa Osei said the event goes beyond competition and focuses on children's development.
“This marathon is more than just a race. It is a platform for building confidence, nurturing talents, and teaching our children that in life, just like in running, it is not only about speed, but also about endurance, resilience, and the courage to keep moving forward,” she said.

Now in its third year, the ROKA Kids Invitational Marathon has evolved from a small initiative into a growing event that brings together families, schools and communities to celebrate youthful energy and healthy living.
The event also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal Four, which promotes holistic development and lifelong learning for young people.
Madam Osei also encouraged young participants to focus on effort and determination rather than winning.
“Each step you take today is a step towards a stronger you. Whether you finish first, in the middle, or last, what matters most is that you gave your best and you finished what you started. That is the true spirit of ROKA Kids Invitational Marathon,” she said.

Participating schools are required to submit a list of contestants at ROKA International School or via email before the deadline. Each school must field 10 participants per race category and ensure gender balance in their selection. Schools will also be responsible for transporting their participants and supporters to the venue.
Winners will receive cash prizes, sneakers, sponsor products, individual medals, and special school trophies for first, second, and third place. All participants will receive certificates of participation.
Reflecting on the significance of the event, Madam Osei expressed hope that the fourth edition would strengthen its broader mission.
“As we mark the 4th edition’s event, let us continue to run with passion, with laughter, and with the belief that we are building not just healthy bodies, but strong minds and brighter futures,” she said.
Sponsors for the 2026 edition include Kasapreko (Awake), Chain Home GH Ltd., Frimps Oil and CallPrint.
The public has been encouraged to attend and cheer on the young athletes. Organisers say the event remains open to all.
