Management of Bills Micro-Credit Limited has launched an internal investigation into a viral video circulating on social media that shows an altercation between some of its field officers and a woman who was carrying a child.
In a statement issued on Saturday, March 14, the company described the incident as a matter of serious concern and said it is working to establish the full facts surrounding what transpired.
According to the company, the footage currently circulating suggests that the woman attempted to retrieve a mobile phone from one of the officers while holding a baby, during which she unfortunately fell.

Management said the situation is deeply regrettable and has therefore initiated a full internal probe to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
The company noted that it is a regulated financial institution and operates under strict professional and ethical standards in its dealings with clients and the public.
Meanwhile, management said it has begun taking steps to reach out to the woman involved as part of efforts to address the situation appropriately and resolve the matter responsibly.
