CEO of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr Nii Otu Nartey, says management of the hospital has started distributing lands to workers of the hospital.
The management was dragged to court by hospital workers said to have paid several sums for pieces of land at Oyibi in the Greater Accra Region promised them by the management.
The court froze the hospital’s bank account as a result of its inability to comply with orders to issue registered documents covering the payment of plots of land.
In the original suit brought by workers of the hospital against their management, they prayed the court to determine whether or not the defendants offered to purchase plots of land at Oyibi for the plaintiffs, whether the defendants asked the plaintiffs to pay for the said land by directing that periodic deductions be made from the emoluments of the plaintiffs until the property was fully paid for, and whether or not the defendants had defrauded the plaintiffs.
But the CEO, Dr Nii Otu Nartey, told Joy News evidence shown the judge presiding over the issue must bring the matter to a closure.
“We presented evidence to show that the land is ready for distribution to the staff concerned,” Dr Nartey told Joy News’ Yaa Asamoah.
The legal impasse has been ongoing for almost five years with a recent out-of-court settlement attempt hitting a snag.
