Residents at Tema Community 20, Tema, whose homes have been earmarked for demolition are to meet officials of HFC and O’Sullivan Estate Development Friday.The officials are expected to tell them how they intend to prevent the demolishing of their houses as almost occurred Thursday.The affected houses are built on a piece of land the subject of a litigation.A stay of execution Thursday was what stopped the demolition after police-guarded bulldozers moved in early morning to execute judgement granted one of the parties, creating tension among owners of the about 40 affected houses.General Manager in charge of Business Development at HFC Bank, Charles Martinson, who confirmed the meeting, told Joy Business everything is being done to ensure the residents keep their homes.“Residents can have their comfort and stay in the house until the appeal is heard. We are meeting to ensure that everything that has gone wrong is put to right. We don’t anticipate any further unfortunate development” he said.Meanwhile, President of the Ghana Real Estate Development, Dr Alex Twebeboah, says every available means must be explored to settle the matter so no party feels aggrieved.Residents put a price tag on a building at GH¢55,000.
