A 21-year-old student has appeared before an Accra District Magistrate's court, alleged to have forcibly had sex with a beauty therapist without her consent.
The accused, Bismark Aning's plea was not taken and was granted a bail of GH¢2,000 with a surety when he appeared before the court presided over by Mr. Ali Baba Abature.
He will be appearing again on August 26.
Police Staff Sergeant Kofi Atimbire told the court that, the victim (name withheld), 21, lives at Kisseiman in the same vicinity with the accused.
He said at about 6:00pm on April 26, the suspect allegedly called the victim on her phone and asked her to meet him in front of their house, to which the victim obliged.
The prosecutor said the suspect led the victim into his house where they met the suspect's father and cousin in the house. They sat at the corridor conversing when the suspect's father called him,so he asked the victim to go and wait for him in his room.
The suspect came back some few minutes later and allegedly locked the doors as soon as he entered the room. He then told the victim that he had always wanted to take her out and quickly pushed her unto a mattress on the floor in his room and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.
Staff Sergeant Atimbire said the suspect, in his reaction claimed they were in a relationship and that the victim consented to the act.
The victim later reported the case to the police and the suspect was arrested.
