The bodies of four people who reportedly drowned have been retrieved from the belly of the Volta Lake in advanced stages of decomposition.Doris Agbleke, 26, with her eight-month baby girl was retrieved by a search party on Friday, five clear days after the motor boat on which they were travelling capsized. The others are, Newlife Dor, 9 and Eva Dor, 5; whose bodies were retrieved on Saturday. They were the children of Seyram Dor, owner and operator of the boat, who was later discharged from the Krachi District Hospital after becoming unconscious following the accident. The Krachi West District Police Commander, DSP Washington Foli, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency, said the bodies were found afloat after a long search. He said the bodies have been released to the bereaved families for burial after the necessary analysis and documentation. Mr Foli warned that the Police would be ruthless with groups or individuals who try to conceal accidents on the lake and refuse to report to the Police. He warned: " All accidents cases are to be reported to the Police, irrespective of where, when and how it occurred."Six out of 10 people travelling from Kete-Krachi in the Volta region to Nkombi in the Brong Ahafo Region via the Volta Lake, however, survived the boat accident, which occurred on August 17, after a storm forced their motor boat to capsize.Source: GNA/Ghana
