A ten member Togolese government delegation, led by its Security Minister, Hon. Titikpina Atcha Mauhamed, has paid a courtesy call on the National Security Coordinator, Col. Larry Gbevlo-Lartey to fashion out modalities to improve upon border relationships and security.The meeting was also intended to afford the two governments the opportunity to discuss means by which to avert the drug menace and other crime related issues that have affected the image of the two countries.Speaking at the meeting, Col. Gbevlo Lartey noted that the visit to the country by the Togolese President and the follow-up by the security outfit was in line with Ghana's policy for change."I believe that at the end of the day we shall be able to deliberate on issues that affect all the other agencies," he said. Gbevlo Lartey, who was flanked by personnel from the Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Police Service and other security agencies noted that the meeting with the Togolese delegation was just the beginning of the policy to ensure good relationship between the two countries.To him, security issues were important to Ghana, stressing that everything would be done to ensure that all deliberations benefit citizens of both countries.The Security Coordinator also expressed his profound appreciation to the efforts being made by the Togolese government, and described the meeting as a ground breaking event.The Togolese Security Minister, speaking through an interpreter, made similar comments and mooted the idea of fostering a better boarder relationship between Ghana and Togo.Titikpina Mauhamed expressed concern over drug menace and called for ways to nib such criminal activities in the bud.Source: Accra Daily Mail
