Alliance Francaise Ghana is putting together its first ever Accra Jazz and World Music Festival to take place at the Alliance Francaise from the October 12 to 17 this year.
The event will witness performances from world renowned Jazz and Fusion artistes like the Babu Group from South Africa who are into Jazz and Indian Music, Thico Freeman and the Squeeze Band, a quartet from Switzerland and Ka-Tam, a trio from France.
It will also feature local artistes like Ayeeko Drummers and Balinga Group, an African Jazz group.
High life and Jazz artistes like Aka Blay and Dela Botri will also collaborate with some of the international artistes billed to perform at the event.
Event coordinator, Cephas Sackitey told Myjoyonline.com that “Life is such that we have variety. You cannot continue to enjoy one thing. People should come and enjoy variety...”
He said the six day event will start with an exhibition of Paintings and Sculptors by some famous artists.
The event is the first edition of what organisers say will be an annual affair to be organised by Alliance Francaise Ghana.
