The violence that characterized the Chirepone bye-election was perpetrated by the non-residents in the area.This was contained in a report released by the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) which monitored the elections.Speaking for the group, Mr John Larbi told Joy News that two people arrested in the area with pistols during the poll were denounced by residents of Chirepone who said the people were not residents.He said some of the people who caused the problems were either from Tamale, Yendi or Kumasi.According to him, some known NDC supporters who were also caught up in some violence came from Kumasi.Source: Joy News/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
