The opposition New Patriotic Party has accused the Daily Graphic of biased reportage.Making reference to the Wednesday 7th October, 2009, edition of the paper, headlined “Chaos at NPP polls: Nana Addo, Alan factions blamed," the Director of Communication for the party Kweku Kwarteng said the report wass erroneous and calculated at creating disaffection for the party.“The report was wrong. The body of the report was way different from the headline. The headline says chaos but if you read you don’t get any chaos. People go away with the headline” he told Joy News on Thursday.“Once people are told the election is chaos they are reluctant to relate to the process. That is exactly what we do not want,” he added.Even though he conceded there were some grievances raised from some parts of the country, that in his opinion could not amount to chaos.Whilst charging the media to provide accurate report, Mr. Kwarteng called on the national daily to “correct the wrong impression it had put out.”When Joy News contacted the Daily Graphic for their reaction, management insisted it had not received official complaint from the party, adding it will respond appropriately once a formal complaint is made. The NPP is conducting its polling station elections which will be followed by the constituency and national elections ahead of the of the 2012 general election.
