A fair to promote made-in-Ghana goods is set to start on Saturday May 30 to 31 in Accra at the Trade Fair Centre, Accra.
The Sankofa Made in Ghana Market Fair was launched recently by the Aid to Artisans Ghana (ATAG) in collaboration with the ATAG Craft Network Association of Ghana (ACNAG).
The venue for the fair is the ATAG Craft Village, Pavilion X at the Ghana Trade Fair Centre, La Accra
The two-day event is expected to exhibit food, clothing, silver, bead and bone jewelry, laptop charging solar bags and lot of handicraft. There will be lots of activities amidst demonstration of soap making, soap carving, basic bead work
Launching the event, Mrs. Bridget Kyeremateng-Darko, Executive Director of Aid to Artisans Ghana (ATAG), implored Ghanaians to participate in the upcoming event stressing that Patronizing made-in-Ghana products would help boost the economy of Ghana.
She stressed that time was due to reducing the over dependence on importation.
“Attention should be given to the locally made goods because it has the impetus to salvage the unemployment menace the country is faced with” she said.
