Officials at Ghana's Meteorological Agency are predicting more rains but with less intensity as compared to the one suffered on June 3, 2015.
Director of Research at the Agency Mr Charles Yorke told Joy News it will take some time for another storm to happen.
A three-day mourning has been announced by President John Mahama in memory of the hundreds of lives lost to the twin disaster of fire and flood that hit the capital on Wednesday.
The Torrential rain which started from 530 pm lasted for well over three hours and left in its wake a disaster of alarming proportions.
Unfortunately the disaster managers had to contend with a huge inferno at the Goil Filling Station close to the Kwame Nkrumah Station in Accra.
The fire and the flood have left the capital on bended knees with Ghanaians mourning the loss of lives and properties.
There are fears there will be more rains and more destruction but the Meteo official said "it will take some time for another storm."
According to Mr Charles Yorke more than 200mm of rains were recorded in the last three days, a magnitude he described as high.
"Once we are in June we should expect more rains," he said.
