The Tema Circuit ‘A’ Court, perhaps to demonstrate how the country’s laws frown upon persons engaging little children in sexual acts, Wednesday sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in hard labour, Mawuli Amegadzie, the Togolese paedophile who sucked the male organs of two little boys, aged 11 and 8, while he masturbated in his rented apartment in Kpone near Tema.He will serve the sentence at the Nsawam Prisons.Amegadzie was charged with two counts of having unnatural carnal knowledge of his victims and sentenced to 20 years after investigations into the alleged sexual acts on the little boys who are brothers and living with their single father in the same area with the accused person.Amegadzie, 45, a mason, was arrested after a female neighbour of his victims’ father warned him to prevent his children from frequenting the residence of the convict. This, according to the lady, was to ensure that the little brothers did not suffer the same sexual abuse a little boy in the same area suffered at the hands of the accused person sometime back. The father, armed with that information, interrogated his little children who finally confessed to having their male organs sucked by Amegadzie on numerous occasions. The father subsequently lodged a complaint with the Tema Regional Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU).A combined team of personnel from the Tema Regional branch of DOVVSU and some policemen from the Kpone police station were detailed to the accused person’s house where he was apprehended after initially resisting arrest and engaging the security personnel in a fierce fight.Speaking to DAILY GUIDE, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rebecca Nyamah, the Tema Regional DOVVSU Coordinator, observed that the arrest and sentencing of Amegadzie was a clear indication that there were a lot of children in Ghanaian communities who were being sexually assaulted, and these cases remained unreported. She appealed to parents to closely monitor the movements of their children, especially with adults or persons suspected to be indulging in such acts, adding that it was one of the surest ways of ensuring that children were spared such ordeals. She mentioned that the sentencing of Amegadzie came on the heels of a similar incident which subsequently led to the sentencing of Patrick Ken Larbash, who was reported to have asked some little children in Sege to suck his manhood while he filmed them in his rented apartment.Amegadzie, later in an interview with this paper, remarked that he preferred sucking the male organs of little children to sleeping with women. He admitted the offence and went on to explain to the paper that he was of the belief that a spell was cast on him by his stepmother, which made him fancy little boys aged between 2 and 14 instead of women.Continuing, Amegadzie claimed that he had never slept with a woman in his life, adding, “anytime I try to sleep with a woman, I fail to get an erection”.He also claimed that he rather got an erection any time he saw little boys and very much enjoyed sodomising them or sucking their male organs.Boasting, he narrated that his latest victims were just two of his many victims since he arrived from his home country, Togo and added that he was recently arrested for a similar offence in the area and was held at the Nsawam Prisons for almost three months, and when his victim and his family failed to pursue the case, the court was compelled to free him.“Sometimes when I find it hard to get a boy, all I do is fold one of my shirts and put it on the floor, I then lie on it on the floor and press my male organ hard on it and gently rob it till I come,” Amegadzie stated. The sentencing of Amegadzie comes exactly 29 days after the same court, presided over by Judge Lorinda Owusu, sentenced Patrick Ken Larbash, the American Paedophile, to 25 years imprisonment in hard labour.Source: Daily Guide
