Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has eulogized the late Paul Victor Obeng, describing him as man ho was larger than life.
He said PV Obeng mentored many people and was brilliant in many ways.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur said this at the First Anniversary Celebration of the late PV Obeng at the Good Shepherd Parish at Community Two in Tema.
The solemn occasion was interspersed with beautiful musical performances by the Tema Youth Choir, the National Symphony Orchestra, and the Harmonious Choir.
The late PV Obeng before his demise was the Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), and also Senior Advisor of President John Dramani Mahama.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur also stated that the spirit of PV lived on even after his death, and that Ghanaians had a lot to learn from his life and legacy.
He said the late PV Obeng was natural in his dealings with people, and did not have to cultivate friends.
He said PV was down-to-earth and was ready to associate with people no matter their status in life, including mechanics and masons among others.
Parish Priest of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Reverend Father Isaac Maunger in a short reflection on the life and legacy of the late PV Obeng, described him as a patriot who loved his country and also God.
He said PV was generous, lived a simple life and was prepared to share whatever he had with everybody.
Mrs Rose Obeng, wife of the late PV, in her thoughts, described her late husband as a man of many attributes, brilliant, hardworking, selfless, diplomatic, but nevertheless modest.
She said PV was loving, committed and a responsible husband, adding that his demise had been difficult to deal with.
She said PV lived a fulfilling and remarkable life working for the good of society.
Mrs Obeng said since the passing on of her husband, she had always felt the presence of God consoling and soothing her heart.
She described PV as a wonderful husband whose spirit lived on.
