A delegation from the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana at the weekend paid a visit to the journalists who were involved in a lorry accident and currently on admission at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
Rev Dr Major Bliss Agbeko, the leader of the delegation, indicated that the church on hearing the tragic incident decided to visit the six victims to get their support in prayers and see how they are faring.
He said the General Assembly of the church would be meeting in Ho to decide on how best the accident victims and their families as well as the deceased family could be supported.
The other 10 victims of the lorry accident who were discharged by the hospital would also be visited for prayers and support, he added.
Rev Agbeko made mention of the fact that the EP Church was shocked when theY heard news of the lorry accident involving the Presidential Press Corps.
The accident occurred when the journalists were returning from Ho after providing media coverage for the church’s seventh General Assembly, which was opened by President John Mahama.
Rev Mrs Comfort Afele, the President of the EP Pastors Association of Ghana, shared some words of encouragement with the victims and prayed for them.
She reiterated that the church would continue to provide spiritual and physical support to the victims who sustained various degrees of injury during the accident and their families as well as the family of the deceased.
Rev Emmanuel Antwi Tumfour, Director of Evangelism of the church and Mr McDonald Bubuama, the Public Relations Officer of the church were among the delegation.
