Apathy has once again characterised the level of participation in the District Assembly elections to choose Assembly men and women.
The elections costing some 400 million cedis did not show the returns of appreciable citizen participation.

Officials of the Electoral Commission were left staring at non-existent queues. At a polling station at Iron City in Dokutsekope only 65 people had voted by midday. There are 771 eligible voters at the center.

Voting booths were under-utilised. Out of 2,206 voters registered in three polling stations in the Klefe electoral area, only 718 had voted by midday.

EC officials were lucky to serve voters with voting materials

At a polling station in Odorkor in Accra 51 out of 869 eligible voters participated. The figure represents 5.9% of the voting population at the electoral area.
