The Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) has signed an MOU with Genysis Solutions, a member of the Pelican Group and owners of the Airwatch Broadcast Revenue Harnessing Software.
Under the MOU, registered members of GIBA will enjoy special discounts on the Genisys acclaimed Airwatch software; while Genisys Solutions Ltd also looks at expanding their client base across the country.
The Airwatch software is an airtime inventory system for radio and television stations which increases efficiency in revenue harnessing, while improving the quality of transmission.
In a statement copied to Joy News, Mr. Peter Akakpo, General Manager of Genisys Solutions mentioned that that is the first of many of such MoUs to be signed with similar Associations across West Africa.
“Our goal is to enhance transmission across the media landscape in Ghana and the rest of West Africa. By the time we are mid-way through with this; advertisers, agencies and institutions should have developed trust that their scheduled spots on media stations will surely be played. This leads to a high probability of enhancing efficiency for both the media stations and the spot buyers.”
The Executive Secretary of GIBA, Kwasi Owusu Asare emphasized that the success of Independent Media is dependent on its ability to properly harness revenue.
He said that in markets outside of the major urban centers especially, the need for such systems to improve the efficiency of their operations was even more paramount.
It is anticipated that media organizations from the Central and Western Regions would benefit from the software in the initial stage of this agreement.
This will however be subsequently rolled out across the country.
