The Scheme Manager for the Asunafo North Municipal Health Insurance Scheme has been dismissed.
A statement from the National Health Insurance Authority signed by the Deputy Corporate and Strategic Affairs Director explains that Jephtah Apau’s termination follows what is being described as consistent and unauthorized use of working hours to engage in radio talks between 9:00 and 10:00am.
The statement expressed disgust at the conduct of the scheme manager, saying he failed to exhibit acceptable conduct and commitment to duty at all times.
The decision to terminate Mr. Appau’s appointment followed a report submitted to management by a committee set up by the authority to investigate allegations of consistent and unauthorized use of working hours.
Mr.Appau has been requested to hand over all scheme property in his possession to the Brong Ahafo Regional Manager of the National Health Insurance Authority who has been directed to authorize the payment of all benefits due to him upon termination of his appointment.
