Some Black Queens players have revealed they are not motivated to continue playing for the national team following the delay in paying their various bonuses after they won gold at the just ended All African Games.
The Queens have been up in arms with the Sports Ministry over their prize package. Indeed, the ladies have been lodging at the M-Plaza Hotel for over week and have pledged to stay there until all monies due them are paid.
Speaking on the Joy Sports Link, team captain Mercy Myles, stiker Samira Suleman and defender Linda Eshun expressed the psychological trauma they are facing and hinted that they are not in the right frame of mind to continue playing for Ghana.
“That decision is left to me alone to take but as it stands now it is really difficult,” said Myles
When asked if she would ever play for Ghana again, Linda Eshun said: “Not really. Because if you work hard and they don’t give you what you deserve nothing will motivate you to do it again. For some of us we are really disappointed.”
Samira Suleman said: "We have won gold and yet still our hard work has not been recognised so that makes it very difficult to think of playing again.”
