Manchester United will be hoping to return to winning ways in the Champions League when Wolfsburg are the visitors to Old Trafford.
Louis van Gaal's side's European campaign got off to the worst possible start with a 2-1 defeat at PSV Eindhoven but they will be hoping their perfect record against Wolfsburg continues to get them back on track.
In their only previous meetings, United beat Wolfsburg in both games in 2009, winning 2-1 at home before securing a 3-1 triumph at the Volkswagen Arena.
The Bundesliga club, who opened their campaign with a 1-0 home win over CSKA Moscow, have not enjoyed their past trips to England, losing on all three occasions and conceding eight goals in the process.
However, they will hope to change that record as they look to extend their lead over United to six points in Group B with victory.
Like City, Borussia Monchengladbach also suffered defeat in their opening game, to Sevilla.
While the Germans have recovered from losing their first six Bundesliga matches with back-to-back league wins, City have lost their last two Premier League matches.
Pellegrini's men opened the campaign with five successive wins but, since losing 2-1 at home to Juventus, they have lost two out of three matches.
City defender Nicolas Otamendi told City's website: "I've always said that Champions League games are special; you have to give respect to your rival and it doesn't matter that they are not in their best moment.
"We were very unlucky to lose against Juventus because we were controlling the game but still didn't win - that can sometimes happen in football - but you must keep going and try to win the next game."
Meanwhile, City's journey to Germany on Tuesday did not begin as smoothly as expected when manager Pellegrini revealed in Tuesday's news conference he had brought the wrong passport to Manchester airport.
Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez is looking for more ``precision'' in front of goal on Wednesday when his team takes on Malmo FF.
The Spanish giants go into their Champions League encounter in Sweden having scored just three times in their last three games.
Terrific goalkeeping from Carlos Kameni frustrated Real in Saturday's goalless draw at home to Malaga.
Benitez is hoping his team can rediscover the attacking flair that saw them clinch a 4-0 triumph over Shakhtar Donetsk in their Group A opener on September 15, when Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick.
Since then, Ronaldo has failed to score.
Swedish champions Malmo lost 2-0 at Paris St Germain in their group opener and are hoping to clinch a point on Wednesday.Real take on Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon stadium on Sunday in La Liga.
Age Hareide's side was held to a goalless result at Halmstad on Saturday and is fifth in the domestic standings, nine points clear of league leaders Goteborg.
The hosts are hoping to recover defender Rasmus Bengtsson, who is doubtful with an ankle injury.
Juventus are struggling in the league with only 5 points in their first 6 games. Last weekend they lost against Napoli and if things don’t improve fast they will find it really difficult to climb up the table to get into the Champions League for the next season.
They opened their group stage in the Champions League this year with an impressive 2-1 away win against Manchester City. They were one goal down at the City of Manchester Stadium after an own goal from Chiellini.
However, Mario Mandzukic and Alvaro Morata turned things around giving the Italians all 3 vital points.
Sevilla, similarly, have played 6 games in La Liga and have only 5 points on the board. Last weekend’s 3-2 win over Rayo Vallecano was Sevilla’s first in the league this season, following defeats against Atletico Madrid, Celta Vigo and Las Palmas in their opening five fixtures.
They really needed the win as they will now play Juventus in the Champions League and Barcelona in La Liga. Struggle in La Liga doesn’t mean the same in the European Cups.
The Europa League winners started their Champions League campaign in good style beating Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-0. Gameiro, Banega and Konoplyanka scored in that game and will hope to continue doing the same in Turin.
