The Senior Staff Nurse in-charge of the Reproductive Health Unit of the Apam Catholic Hospital, Mrs Selina Bondzie, has advised parents to stop their children from using deodorants because it could affect their health.
She stated that being anti-perspirants, deodorants could block the pores while other users could suffer from boils when continuously used.
Mrs Selina Bondzie said this at a lecture she delivered at the Apam Catholic Church on Sunday under the topic, "Adolescent Health and Development".
She, therefore, recommended the use of lime to control body odour.
Mrs Bondzie appealed to parents to provide their children, especially the girl child with their basic needs so they do not fall prey to men.
The Parish Priest of the Church, Reverend Father Jude Ampah appealed to fathers to be more responsible and also take care of the needs of their children.
He stressed that the situation where fathers left the care of the children to the women was over.
