Ebenezer Assifuah is fired up for FC Sion's UEFA Europa League match day two tie against European heavyweights, Liverpool in England on Thursday night, so much the Ghanaian striker has confidently stated his side can spring a huge surprise.
Sion travel to Anfield tops of Group B after beating Russian side, Rubin Kazan 2-1 on the opening match day of the 2015/16 season of Europe's second tier club tournament when Liverpool could only draw goalless at Bordeaux.
Now Assifuah is eyeing even bigger scalp when they take on the 5-time European champions at Anfield later tonight despite suffering setback in the Swiss Super League at the weekend when they lost for the second straight game following a 0-1 home defeat to Vaduz that saw them slip down the league log to 5th.
"We have learned from our mistakes and I don’t think beating Liverpool is something we can’t achieve," Assifuah reportedly told AfricanFootball.com.
The Ghanaian lasted lasted 68 minutes in the victory over Rubin Kazan in Switzerland two weeks ago.
