General Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Samuel Opoku Nti, says he remains committed to the club’s cause, despite calls for his removal.
He tells Nhyira Power Sports in Kumasi his loyalty to Kotoko is unflinching because the club made him who he is today.
Media reports have been rife the 1982 Nation’s Cup winner has been relieved of his post by club owner and life patron, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Opoku Nti vehemently debunked the reports via the club’s official website.
“I’ll forever remain loyal to Kotoko. They made me who I’m today. Unless they (Kotoko) tell me that they’re no more interested in my services, other than that I don’t see myself becoming an enemy to Kotoko when I’m even out of office,” the 54-year-old stated.
He continued, “All my life is on football and there is no way I’II distance myself from football. I’ve a coaching certificate, but I don’t want to enter coaching role simply because I can’t come back and hurt Kotoko should I be no more with them.’’
Opoku Nti vied and won a place in the FA Executive Committee in election held on Tuesday, making him one of six premiership club representatives who will intercede for their clubs on major decisions.
