AshantiGold Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo has decided to resign from his positions at the Ghana Football Association media committee as well as the Black Stars management committee days after losing the Executive Committee election.
The former GHALCA boss believes he was rejected by the delegates and paid the price for failing to play a match of convenience against WAFA at the back end of the season.
Reports claim the Miners were asked to play a match of convenience with the Sogakope side to secure their status in the Premier League in the just ended season.
Ashantigold defied the calls and won the game by a goal to nil.
Fianoo polled five votes and failed to make it onto the executive committee.
He told Graphic Sports in an interview he will disclose the details of his resignation at an appropriate time.
“At an appropriate time, I will go public about the reasons that pushed me to take this decision but something I have thought through very well."
“But I have always thought about a day like this and events before the Premier League ended must have eventually pushed me to this decision.”
Fianoo led the Obuasi side this season to end their 19 year wait for the Premier League title.
