The Board Chairman of the National Sports Council, Mr Kojo Bonsu, has on behalf of the Council and members of the Governing Board sent their message of hope, encouragement and patriotism to Joshua Clottey.
Mr Bonsu wished him all the best of success as he mounts the ring to challenge Manny Pacquiao for his WBO Welterweight title on 13th of March, 2010 in Dallas, USA.
In the goodwill message sent to Clottey, he said "At the dawn of a new era, the mission of the sporting authorities is to deliver to the sportsmen and women of Ghana, and especially to the boxing fraternity of today, (on behalf of all Ghanaians), the most harmonious and encouraging fillip to all sports performers".
He added that "Joshua, you have the ability to do it again, the courage to withstand the rough and tough tide, the will to elevate yourself and make mother Ghana proud. Yes, you can, with our whole population behind you in prayer and with the Almighty God all around you".
Mr Bonsu was optimistic that Clottey will indeed be the winner of a new Belt with God's Blessings and the support of all Ghanaians.
