The wife of the Vice President, Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama has presented a quantity of essential hospital items to the La General Hospital and the Maamobi Polyclinic, both in Accra.
The items included hospital beds, mattresses, hoists, rollators, wheel chairs, toilet chairs, walking racks, Auxiliary crutches, Seat pillows, blankets and Hospital uniforms.
Presenting the items at separate occasions on Tuesday, Mrs Mahama observed that while government continues to make huge investments in the health sector to improve health care delivery, “we must all come together to assist in that effort.”
“Unfortunately, at some point in our lives, every one of us will surely require medical attention. Our hospitals and other health centres must therefore be well-resourced to provide us with the care that we need and desire,” Mrs. Mahama stated.
She also urged the management of the two health care centres to endeavour to provide patients with good quality care, adding “I believe that the items presented by my group, the Alternative Source of Income Programme (ASOIP) will help with your activities and also benefit patients who visit this hospital.”
ASOIP, which is Mrs Mahama’s NGO, working in partnership with an Israeli group, ‘Israel to the Nations’ would also be presenting a quantity of hospital items and drugs to some health centres in the Brong Ahafo Region.
In all, 20 Hospital beds and mattresses, 2 Washing beds, 3 Hoists, 49 Rollators, 60 Wheel chairs, 10 Shower seats, 10 Toilet chairs and 6 Walking racks are being distributed among the beneficiary health centres. The rest are 100 Auxiliary crutches, 3 Elbow crutches, 1 Infusion stand, 10 Seat pillows, 1 Load of blankets and 1000 Hospital uniforms.
