The Ghana Football Association and the Premier League Board has sent Gideon Baah a message wishing him a "speedy recovery" from the injury which has ruled him out of the rest of the season.
Baah, while playing for Asante Kotoko suffered a broken leg midway into the first half of their 1-0 defeat to Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
The young full-back had a successful surgery in Kumasi on Thursday afternoon and is expected to return sometime next season.
A joint statement issued today said: "The GFA and PLB take this opportunity to express profound regret at the unfortunate incident that saw Asante Kotoko’s budding defender, Gideon Baah, stretchered off the field, after sustaining serious leg injury, in last Sunday’s match against Hearts of Oak and which Doctors say may keep him out of play for some months.
"We wish Gideon Baah a speedy recovery and join the football fraternity to sympathize with Asante Kotoko and the family of the player."
The statement also cautioned competing players in the league to be mindful of the impact of injuries.
"The Ghana Football Association and the Premier League Board, wish to caution players in the teams competing in the on-going GLO Premier League to be mindful of injuries that occur due to cynical or accidental tackles and over zealousness.
"The League needs all registered players who must stay healthy, physically fit and alive even as the competition has entered the twilight period.
"The FA and the Board are encouraged, however to observe a commendable out-of-field camaraderie atmosphere permeating among opposing players and hope that the same fellow-feeling spirit may be maintained on the field of play at all times and at all venues to dignify the League system in Ghana," the statement added.
