The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo has been honoured by the Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) for the hardworking and active role he played as a Board member of the company for the past six years.
This was contained in a citation signed by the Managing Director of company, Mr. Patrick A.K. Akorli to honour the Greater Accra Minister who was appointed as a member of the Board of GOIL in July, 2009 and served in that capacity till April, 2015.
“As a member of the Board of Directors, several important decisions were taken which impacted positively on the company. Notable amongst these was the decision to re-brand GOIL, a decision which helped propel GOIL to its present status as the No. 1 oil marketing company (Retail) in Ghana”, the citation stated.
“Your active participation in Board matters and duties, despite your honourous duties as a Member of Parliament for the Kpone Katamanso Constituency, and as the Greater Accra (and for a time, Volta) Regional Minister, deserve commendation”, the message added.
For the above reason, and generally for the part you played as a Board Member in the GOIL story, we honour you with this citation, as a testimony of a job well done, and to say, Oyi wara donn!”, the citation concluded.
