Former Black Stars striker Augustine Arhinful has revealed why he has not taken on any coaching job in the country since hanging his boots.
Arhinful, who is part of the Ghana Football Association’s technical committee, qualifies to manage any team in the country after obtaining his CAF License A coaching certificate.
According to him, interference and manipulation in the work of coaches from club administrators is the main reason why he has decided to stay away.
“I have not given myself that opportunity because i have not been happy with some happenings on the local scene,” he told Joy Sports
“I would want a team that will allow me to work if if i’m given the job but we all know and we don’t have to run away from that fact that coaches here are not given the free hand to work when it comes to local management."
He added that “ I don’t blame the management too because you put in your money and you want to have success and so you always want to have an input but when it comes to technical issues sometimes you need to leave it to the technical men then if i fail you are able to tell me that you are not doing well so go."
“But i will not sit down for you to dictate to me who plays on a weekend whiles i have taken them through training that doesn’t work for me so that is why i have kept myself from mainstream coaching.”
