Esperance Sportive de Tunis' leftback Harrison Afful is keeping his fingers crossed as he looks to book a place in the Ghana World Cup squad.
The 22-year-old concedes he has faint hopes of making it to South Africa's maiden global football fiesta.
The former Asante Kotoko player told Ghanasoccernet.com: “I lost my place as left-back and I know I have to fight for it. The coach spoke to me during the Nations Cup and I want to correct all mistakes before the World Cup finals. I'm not ruling myself out.
"My club is doing well and that has motivated me to achieve more.
"I can't wait to win the CAF Champions League because it makes you big as a player and my club have what it takes to win."
"I missed the registration for the competition but I should be ready for the group phase."
