One person is said to have been shot dead in Bawku.
Joy FM's Upper East Regional correspondent, Joseph Osei, reported that the deceased was gunned down in a crowded area.
Police have confirmed the incident but say it is too early to make a public statement on it.
The latest shooting is one in a series of clashes that have characterised the town.
Tensions have been high in Bawku for years as the youth in the area have continually engaged in violent confrontations, in most cases resulting in loss of lives and destruction to property.
