New Angola coach Hervé Renard believes the Black Stars will excel at the 2010 World Cup to be held in South Africa in June.
The Frenchman thinks the six African representatives at the World Cup finals on home soil would not disappoint tipping Cameroon as the continent's best hope.
The former Zambia boss and ex-Ghana physical trainer added that Africans can count on Ghana as well.
“I think that teams that participated at the ACN will perform best at the World Cup because they will have the necessary motivation and because it will be the first World Cup taking place in Africa,"
"That would be an extraordinary moment. The effervescence will be exceptional.
“We now know the potential of these teams. The team which impresses me most is Ghana.
"Without their stars, they were very good at the ACN. Besides Cote d’Ivoire and Cameroon, I think Ghana has a solid team we can count on.
“For me, Cameroon has the best chance of going to the second round in a group with Japan, Denmark and Holland.
"If Algeria performs like it did in the qualifiers, they may turn out well.
"Even though South Africa is not at the top in African classification, the team will be propelled by the support of an entire nation. Bafana Bafana is capable of creating surprises.”
Renard, a former manager of Cambridge United, said that South Africa is more than ready to host a “fantastic World Cup.”
