Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien has made a full recovery from an injury that has kept him out of football games for months.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid star transferred to Greek club Panathinaikos but has since struggled with reoccurring injuries.
On Saturday, the Ghana international played for Panathinaikos in a friendly against Lavadiakos. New Panathinaikos coach Andrea Stramatsoni introduced Michael Essien in the second half of the game after seeing him return to full first team training within the week.
The Ghanaian player impressed in his 45 minutes of the game as Panathianaikos drew 1-1 with Levadiakos.
The knee injury Michael Essien sustained has also kept him out of international football as the Black Stars midfielder hasn’t had a call-up into the senior national side for a while.
