Ghana's Black Maiden's are a step closer to reaching the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Trinidad & Tobago after posting a 7-0 result past Tunisia.
The Black Maiden's chasing a second successive appearance at the World Cup were a delight to watch as they scored in both half’s of the game ahead of the return leg in Tunis in a fortnight's time.
Saturday's game was the final African qualifying for the World Cup with the continent assured on two slots.
An own goal opened the floodgates at the Ohene Djan Stadium for Ghana before a brace by Alice Danso ended the half 3-0 for the home side.
Back from the break, Mary Essilful struck the fourth goal after which Rita Okyere took charge of the scoring duties.
Rita hit a hat-trick to complete a good first leg for coach Abraham Allotey.
Ghana made its debut in the age-category competition two years ago in New Zealand and are rather close to making the finals in Trinidad & Tobago later in September.
Sixteen African sides were involved at the first round stage of qualifying with the continent assured of two places at the World Cup finals.
