Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Ghana’s unrivalled investigative journalist, is madly in love with a spicy girl of alarming beauty and the two are currently putting finishing touches to a planned secret wedding to be held at a town in the Northern region.
News-One has gathered the soon to be wife may be either related to Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide or may be the daughter of a military personnel.
Grape vine reports also say the lady may be living in Teshie near the Nautical college.
Reports say Mr. Baako is very much in the known of the planned marriage and that the ceremony is scheduled to come off in the last Saturday of April and that invitation has been extended to only close family relatives.
Reports are that Anas may not be at the ceremony in person but would rely on relatives to go through the necessary marriage rituals.
The ceremony was originally planned for April 1 but the date was changed at the eleventh hour as family elders said they were taking it for an April fool’s joke and had thus not adequately prepared for it.
Anas would not comment on the matter and would not also allow his photos to be taken.
Sources close to him say he was literally pressured into the marriage as relatives become increasingly disturbed about the risky heights he dares to reach to get his stories.
News-one has also gathered that Anas, soon after the wedding in late April would travel to Brazil in early May for a plastic surgery to change the shape of his face, nose and jaw-bones. Currently he is learning French, German and Spanish.
Very little was gathered on Anas himself aside reports that he had his basic education at one of the schools at Burma Camp in Accra before moving to the Christian Methodist School.
He continued to the Ghana Institute of Journalism and then the University of Ghana, Legon.
He currently heads a Ghanaian-based private investigative and surveillance firm that is part of an international network of investigative organizations.
Anas has won several international awards to his credit including the US State Department Award on Trafficking In Persons (TIP) award (Washington), the first with Kurt Schorck award in international Journalism (London) Ghana’s Journalist of the Year, Ghana’s Investigative Journalist of the Year, the Lorenzo Natali Prize Awards, and several others. Perhaps what put an icing on his cake was the verbal recognition, praise and commendation he received from US President; Barrack Obama.
