The Overcomers International Bible Church has planned to provide 50 boreholes for some selected communities in the Upper East and the Upper West Regions.
The GHc700, 000 project, which would be funded by the Church's relief foundation, is to help solve the problem of acute water shortage the people in those areas are encountering.
Right Reverend Ben Arko Harrison, General Overseer of the Church, disclosed this in an interview with GNA in Accra on Tuesday.
According to him, the Church had already provided five boreholes for the people of Kadema in the Sandema District of the Upper East Region at 70,000 Ghana cedis.
Rt. Rev. Harrison, who is also the president of the Overcomers International Worldwide, said the Church was offering scholarships to 60 brilliant but needy students to enable them acquire education from basic school stage to the university level.
He said the church had acquired a 50-acre plot of land at Suhum in the Eastern Region for the establishment of a university college.
Rev. Harrison called on politicians to ensure peace and unity towards the development of the country.
He called on the youth to learn hard so that they could acquire skills and knowledge needed for national development.
