Premier League leaders Obuasi Ashgold were held to a 1-1 drawn game on Sunday by relegation threatened Accra Great Olympics in their 27th Week Glo Premier League match played at the Obuais Len Clay sports stadium.
It was Olympics who looked hungrier to carry the day right from the kick-off with an all attacking game which put the Ashgold defence under pressure and succeeded in scoring the opener in the 43rd minute through Billa Mohammed when his shot easily beat goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda.
Ashgold came back from the recess full of fight as they raided the goal area of the visitors on several occasions but failing to get the much needed equaliser to keep their leadership dreams on course.
In one of their forays, Addoquaye Addo who was in a good position to score was fouled in the penalty box by Olympics defender Patrick Gyamfi in the 60th minute.
Referee Theresa Bremansu whistled for a spot kick for Frederick Quayson to convert for the equaliser.
Despite the late effort by both teams to find the net none of their efforts could materialise until the final whistle.
