Yakubu Sidi, a Fulani herdsman, was last Thursday remanded into prison custody for conspiring to commit robbery.
Sidi pleaded not guilty and would reappear on May 06.
Police Chief Inspector Seth T. Mensah told the court presided over by Mr Edward Apenkwa that on March 9 Sidi and seven others at large robbed passengers en-route to Kete-Krachi from Accra.
He said passengers on board a bus and a pick up were robbed by masked men at a section of the road between Dormabin and Tokoranu at about 0200 hours.
Mr Mensah said the robbers, wielding locally manufactured guns, robbed the passengers of personal belongings, cash and mobile phones and fled into the bush.
He said a complaint was made to the Police and in the course of investigations Sidi was arrested.
Mr Mensah said one of the victims of the robbery identified Sidi during an identification parade.
