Google has announced an exciting international initiative for young people in Ghana and around the world called "Doodle 4 Google - I love Football". The competition invites 4 to 17 year olds to design their own Google logo inspired by the topic "I love football".
The winning Doodle for the first ever international Doodle 4 Google competition will be displayed internationally on the Google homepage for a day on July 11th 2010. Moreover, the Ghanaian winner, to be determined by Googlers, will win a laptop and have their Doodle displayed on the Google Ghana homepage.
The Doodle 4 Google competition is open to all children and teenagers in the participating countries aged between 4 and 17. Young artists will be challenged to create an image around the love of football that is independent from any specific team they support.
Submitted Doodles will be judged on artistic merit, creativity and the representation of the 'I love football' theme.
The national winner will be entered automatically into the global competition, in which the public from around the world will vote for their overall favorite Doodle. The overall winning design will be displayed on the Google homepage of all the participating countries for 24 hours, in July 2010. The winner and the runner up will win amazing prizes
Contestants can send their Doodles by post to PMB CT406, Cantonments, Accra, hand delivered to the Google Ghana Office, 7th Floor, GNAT Heights Building, 30 Independence Avenue or emailed to doodle4google-gh@google.com
All doodles have to be received by Google by Saturday May 22nd.
