The Ashanti Regional Manager of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh has hinted that some NHIS officials would soon be expelled for acts of financial mismanagement.
According to him, an uncompleted audited account of the scheme in the region has cited some officials for corrupt practices and non- performance.
Mr Ponkoh says their dismissal would be carried out devoid of political victimization.
He was addressing a fund raising ceremony organized by the University of Education-Kumasi branch of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network of the NDC (TEIN).
By far, Mr Ponkoh observed, that the scheme under his supervision is the best managed throughout the country.
He added that since his appointment, he has been able to restore public confidence in the scheme, reducing its indebtedness to various health facilities with prompt payment of claims.
