General Manager of Hearts of Oak has explained the unpopular decision to transfer players of the club despite widespread agitations.
The club recently announced parting ways with 14 players including star midfielder Emmanuel Hayford.
Fans of the club have questioned the club’s decision but Ankrah is adamant it was a well thought process.
“At the end of last season, a critical look was taken at the team,” he told Asempa Sports
“Certain criteria were determined and some players were put on transfer.”
Gerald Ankrah also rubbished reports the Phobians let striker Latif Salifu slip through their hands despite the former Chelsea man putting pen to paper for the Phobians.
“It is not a matter of Latif Salifu slipping through our hands, it is a matter of the player not being honest or the manager of the player not being honest.”
“Latif cannot play in this country unless we don’t want to pursue this issue.”
“We have a valid contract with him and he run to Ivory Coast.”
Hearts of Oak have been under severe pressure to sign big name players to augment their current squad after a dismal 2014/2015 league season.
