Ghanaian league champions have been handed a tough draw in the CAF Champions League after being drawn Algerian side MO Bejaia in the preliminary stage of the competition.
The Miners will host the Algerians in the first-leg at Obuasi between 12-14 February 2016 with the return leg to be played two weeks later in Algeria.
The Obuasi-based club's path to the money zone of the competition has been made even tougher by the fact that they face the winner of the match between Tunisian giants Club African and Ivorian club A.S. Tanda in the 1/16th stage should they progress
AshGold are keen to emulate Berekum Chelsea who were the last Ghanaian team make the group phase of the competition.
Meanwhile, FA Champions Medeama have drawn a bye in the first qualifying round and will now face the winners of Ittihad of Libya and AS Sonidep of Niger
