The wait is finally over as Mighty Jets officially confirmed their place in the Premier League for next season after winning their final play-off game against FC Nania on Sunday.
Jets won the decisive game 1-0 over Nania.
A goal scored under one minute into the start of the game by Nicholas Aryee sealed the Tudu-based side passage to the top-flight on their third attempt in the play-offs.
With the win at the Sekondi Sports Stadium in the bag, the other Zone III game between Tema Youth and Pure Joy in Cape Coast which ended 1-1 did not matter to the standings.
For coach Dadson’s Jets, who suffered a humiliating season’s ban for match-fixing, two seasons ago, sealing promotion represents just a reward for the community team who have always supplied talents to other premier league clubs.
But while Jets were booking their place in the elite division, the campaign got off for teams in Zone I.
BA Stars managed a 2-1 away win over Upper East Stars while Bazooka FC drew goalless with Bechem at home.
The concluding matches in Zone II will come off on Monday as Medeama and Ebusua Dwarfs go head-to-head in their clash at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
Mine Stars and Westham play at the Tema Park in match which will mean nothing to the the promotion hopes of the top two sides.
