About 100 students are expected to graduate from the EKGs Culinary Institute with diplomas and certificates after successfully completing courses in sugar and pastry arts as well as balloon and floral decoration.
The event, the 34th in the series and scheduled for Sunday, December 13 at the National Theatre, will also see students exhibit some of their works such as cakes and several varieties of pastries and intricate floral arrangements, with the cakes in particular showcasing traditional and international ones.
Organisers say the occasion to be marked on the theme “Equipping your youth for the future through effective training; EKGS leads the way” will be addressed by the Head of Hotel Catering Institutional Management at the Accra Polytechnic, Mrs Vida Duku.

On the sidelines to entertain the students and guests will be gospel songstress Philippa Baafi and the ElDuminas Choir

The Institute was recently honoured with two awards by the West African Magazine. While EKGS was honoured with the most outstanding culinary organization in West Africa, its Director and Founder, Mrs Efua Otuwa Goode Obeng Kyei also picked the top culinary business personality award.
The award was instituted four years ago to recognize and appreciate outstanding personalities and corporate bodies in the sub-region, who have stood out in excellence in their fields of endeavor, and also to challenge others to strive for the top in their chosen vocations.
