Portmouths midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng can now play for the Black Stars of Ghana following a nationality switch approved by FIFA Wednesday.
This was confirmed by the Black Stars Management Committee Chairman Fred Pappoe in an interview with Joy Sports' Acting Sports Editor Ernest Koranteng.
The switch could only be timely for Coach Milovan Rajevac who has a number of injury worries to key players of the Stars.
It also ends months of criticism against the GFA who were accused of not showing enough commitment and urgency to make the switch happen.
Kevin Prince Boateng who has a Ghanaian father played for the youth teams of the German national teams but decided to change nationality, a condition allowed by the FIFA.
He is already relishing a clash with his brother Jerome Boateng who stuck with the German team and could start for the side when the two countries clash in the final Group D game in the World Cup.
