Undefeated Ghanaian boxer Braimah 'Bukom Banku' Kamoko has vowed to stop Ayittey Powers in round 5 of their rematch dubbed Repeat or Revenge in Kumasi on December 26.
Last week, Banku pulled out of the rematch claiming he was injured but in less than 24 hours he reversed that decision.
With the GH¢ 50,000 purse, a Range Rover and a holiday for two to Johannesburg at stake, Banku - who rarely delivers on his vows - has pledged to stop Powers.
“Ayittey Powers is a good boxer but I will beat him on the day , I am really training hard for this bout,” said Banku in an interview with Joy Sports
“This is no revenge for powers but rather I am going to repeat what I did last year and even this time I will stop him round 5.
“It will be a miracle for Powers to pass round 5 so you come to the Kumasi Stadium and watch on December 26.”
Michael Okine, aka Ayittey Powers, who lost the first bout by a unanimous decision, has promised to hand Banku his first career defeat.
“The first fight I made lots of mistakes which I have corrected now so I am optimistic of beating Banku this time,” he told Joy Sports
“Whatever I have to do to win this fight I have so I don’t have any problem at all.”
The Joy Daddy Sponsored event also sees Ghanaian music superstars Sarkodie, Shatta Wale , D-Black, Efya and Kwaw Kese mount the stage as well 7 other well matched bouts between Ghanaian, Nigerian, Togolese and UK boxers.
